Brahmagiri is a hill in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. It is situated in Nashik District in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Maharashtra. Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple is located near this place. The origin of the Godavari River, which Hindus consider sacred, is near Trimbak. It flows for , first eastwards across the Deccan Plateau then turns southeast, entering the West Godavari district and East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, until it splits into two watercourses that widen into a large river delta and flow into the Bay of Bengal. Location Brahmagiri, the hill (giri) of Lord Brahma, appear in many mythological and legendary documents. The Puranas state that the Gautama Maharishi and his wife Ahalya resided on this hill. Brahmagiri (Karnataka)
Brahmagiri, is a mountain range in the Western Ghats of south India. It is situated on the border between Kodagu district in Karnataka state in the north and Wayanad district of Kerala state on the south. Brahmagiri Hill, at 1608 m height, near Tirunelli is a scenic tourist attraction. The top of Brahmagiri Hill is well forested and has much wildlife. Talakaveri is located on the northern section of the range, near Bhagamandala in Kodagu district (Coorg), in the South Indian state of Karnataka. Tourist attractions Thirunelli Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, lies on the Kerala side of Brahmagiri. The temple was constructed in an ancient style and includes 30 granite pillars. According to legend, the temple was constructed by Lord Brahma himself. Pakshipathalam at an altitude of 1740 m is another attraction on the Kerala side. Brahmagiri Archaeological Site
Brahmagiri is an archaeological site located in the Chitradurga district of the state of Karnataka, India. Legend has it that this is the site where sage Gautama Maharishi (also spelt Gauthama Maharshi) and his wife Ahalya lived. He was one among seven noted Hindu saints (Saptharshi mandalam). This site was first explored by Benjamin L. Rice in 1891, who discovered rock edicts of Emperor Ashoka here. Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary
The Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Kodagu District, Karnataka State, India, within the Western Ghats and about 250 km from Bengaluru. The sanctuary derives its name from the highest peak of the mountain range, Brahmagiri (hill), Karnataka, Brahmagiri Peak. It was declared a sanctuary on June 5, 1974.
